Exceptional Children’s Assistance Center
has a lending library? ECAC's combined libraries have thousands of titles in a variety of formats available to lend to parents, families, young children, students, educators and other professionals. Some of our titles are brand new, some are "oldies but goodies", and we add titles throughout the year. Borrowing is easy and free! Just email or call the ECAC Librarian, Shandra Umazar at 1-800-962-6817, ext. 313 or check the
of our website. If you don't see something you are looking for, please ask and we will try to get it for you.
GKSN—Grandparents of Kids with Special Needs.
No one knows what it is like to be the grandparent of a child with special needs better than another grandparent! GKSN is a Facebook group where grandparents can connect with others who "get it." It's a warm, thoughtful, and inviting community where members share unique concerns, joys, frustrations, and information with others who truly understand. If you have a grandchild with special needs, we hope you’ll join us! Please know: GKSN is a closed group. This means that only other GKSN members can see what you’ve posted to GKSN. Joining is easy: To join, visit
or type GKSN in the Facebook search bar. Click “Join Group” and we’ll approve your request soon. If you have any questions about this, please write Don Meyer at
. GKSN is hosted by The Sibling Support Project.
